Default Rear end fluid change

My owners manual says every 15000. Is this what y'all do? I have 18000 now with the 2.92 LSD rear end and do not tow. What do you recomend?

If I was to do it, which I will do in a month at about 2500 miles I am going to replace everything (tranny, both diffs, and oil) with Royal Purple. I was watching Horse Power Tv weekend before last and they did that to a Chevy Z28 and gained 9 HP to the wheels. I'm not saying that it would work as well as it did with that since a truck is a totally different beast but its worth a try. I would none the less go with synthetic. Thats my .02

I called the local Dodge dealer and they told me that they use the 75w90 and only recommend the 75w140 for extreme uses (i.e. towing, mud riding).

Has anyone done their's? What did you use?

I changed the rear end gear lube at 8,000 miles. I have the tow package and used Amsoil Sevre Gear 75W-140. I read an interesting article (which I cannot find now) that stated if you change the rear end lube after the breakin period (between 6,000 and 8,000 miles) that the amount of wear will be extremely minimal over the next 100,000 miles. If you don't change it then the wear will grow almost exponentially. I guess this is due to leaving the initial breakin contaminates in to slowly eat away causing more wear. I didn't really care I just changed the lube.

I just saw this on Amsoil's website....(http://www.amsoil.com/articlespr/2007/pr_SVT.aspx)

New Severe Gear 75W-110 Synthetic Gear Lube from AMSOIL
The new viscosity gear lube grade that fills the gap between the 75W-90 and 75W-140 viscosity gear lubes that most people are accustomed to using. Many used the 75W-140 to obtain extra filmprotection beyond what the 75W-90 viscosity grade offered for their differentials, but found that they sacrificed fuel economy by doing so.This new viscosity grade, 75W-110, offers a high temperature film protection beyond what a 75W-90 offers, without compromising fuel economy. This new mid-range viscosity grade for gear lubes addressesperformance, protection and fuel economy.

Sounds like something worth trying, I'm planning to switch everything over to amsoil sometime this summer.
