need a radar are they all the same or is one better than the other looking to spend about 200 bucks I like the escort or valintine but its pricy and imput would be great

 

I remember seeing many threads about this when I was reading the team integra forums. The general consensus there was that the valentine one and the escort were well worth the money. Might be able to get one of those on ebay for a decent price.

Yeah I've heard that some radar detectors don't work well and others are great... I've also heard that alot of law enforcement agencies are switching to laser radar guns which older detectors... (also the cheaper ones) don't pick up... but again this is all hear say. I was gonna get a radar detector but when I heard that I changed my mind...that and the fact that my parents and gf would kill me because it is basically saying "I SPEED".

 

Not going to beat the Valentine One. It's absoultely the best one out there. Full radar and alser coverage and tells you from what direction it's coming from.

 

i have the whistler 1125 radar and laser wideband. this dectector is a 360 degree dectector. works like a charm has the sensitivity of 1/2 mile and if the radar is low it picks it up has different sounds for different types of radar.

 

I've used the Valentine 1 radar detector for the past 10 years and there's nothing better. I've alsoused many others prior to this one and the range and the ability of the V1 to inform which direction the signal is coming from is a tremendous asset. I have, also, upgraded my V1 twice during this time. After you purchase one, you get a discount (about $100) on the newer models. You'll also notice that Bell, Escort, and Whisler will always compare themselves against each other but they'll never compare themselves against a V1.

 

I know how you feel. How do I tell my parents no I don't speed I just think it looks cool. Think they'd buy it? Oh well cops must not notice me I pass em doin 80-85 in a 65 daily and never have been stopped on a four lane divided highway though so maybe that's why.

 

Lol, my parents would probably help me buy one. They already know I speed most of the time. I probably should get one, only gotten 4 tickets since I've had my license (4 years now) but I think I've shelled out over 2 grand to pay the stupid things.

 

LOL yeah I dont' think your parents why buy "I think it looks good" ...if I thought anyone would buy that... I woulda tried it a while ago.
