Default Overhead console DTE compass Etc

Hello guys I have noticed when I first got my Dakota the Distance to Empty with a full tank used to read 325 or so, after a few tank fill up it starts going down like 305 295 etc etc the only way to get it back to 325 is by unplugging the battery. my question is do you guys have the same problem ? is this normal ? or what ?

Has your mileage gone down? I believe it uses the average mileage to calculate distance to empty.

mine is the same way. started at 325 now it sits at 322. the problem is i get between 360/380 miles to a tank of gas. everytime i fill it it stay at 322. i put about 80 miles on it then the dte starts working.

Better than the Denali my ex's parents had. They ran that thing out of gas a couple of times, it would still say 80 something miles on the distance to empty, lol.

My DTE starts at slightly different numbers...started around 325...and now it varies from there all the way down to 312. It learns my driving habits and tries to guess how many miles to empty it'll need. It's never right...and it never moves 'til I've driven 100 miles or more, sometimes.
