I don't think it would look right, I'm pretty sure it's indented into the bumper so it sits flush. I'll see if I can snap a close-up a little later.
That chrome piece is. I think the painted bumpers are the same as the gray bumpers. My gray bumper has an inset area that looks as if you can put that chrome overlay right in it.

I have the black steel wheels, and they look great (personally). They are only $40/wheel. Made by a company called "Unique" which is carried by America's Tire Co.

I am not sure if our lug pattern is the same, and the price has gone up a little since I purchased them, but here is the link:

Sorry curtiplas there can be only one like my truck. Just kidding. Cost me $200 bucks to get the grille painted at local body shop. Could have done it myself but did my bumper and the paint is peeling off of it so thats why I paid to have it done. And it was worth it came out great.

I believe Every Dakota bumper is like that, grey plastic or body colored.

The steels are more durable in that they wont beak or crack, only bend, and bend back.
never wheeled aluminum eh?

I used to wheel rubicon weekly on the summers.. and winter too.

Personally I won't run steel, ever. It bends and burps and leaks. I have never seen an alloy rim crack, I wouldn't dare touch mine without gloves since they are severly chewed but they don't leak and they aren't bent!

BTW if anyone in the sacto area wants to trade a plain for a chrome inserted cover let me know

The bumpers look the same to me, I will check to see if I can get the insert..
