I usually get 18-19 mpg highway @ 75-80 mph, in town 13- 14 , I just got restationed from AZ to OK and towed 5300lbs including the trailer. (crappy uhaul) @ 55mph and got 13.5 mpg. I must admit i have a lil bit of a lead foot. all of these figures are based on the over head display not hand calcutions. not sure how acurate it really is. truck is 06 V8 slt 4x4 all stock

 

my very best tank was 22.5 all highway at 80mph it seems the faster i go on cruise control the better it gets. wierd my old mans got a hemi and pulls in 20 all day long on the highway. I feel once you put any kind of load on the motor the numbers drop right to 13.5. going back to canada next week and I will give a complete report of towing 5000 lbs 1000 miles round trip.

 

Frenchy, you noticed a big improvement with the elec fan?

 

Hey Guy's,I can't belive what some of you are getting.I have an 05 now has 33K(bought brand new) Quad,SLT,V8,4X4,Tow PKG,Ect...Added a drop in K&N and droped the muffler and replaced it w/ a straight pipe.

Now,my work place is 15 miles from home and i have 1 traffic light & three stop signs,now If Iam light on the gas I will get 19.8-22.1 MPG now that's going easy on the gas.Now when on the HWY @ speeds under 75MPH I will get up to 21.0MPG.
I run the cheap gas from top gas stations (Molble,Sunoco,Shell ect)

I change my own oil, wash & rotate my tires EVERY 3K,I also wash it every week, not that washing it makes a differance but hey, I love my Truck & like to keep it clean!
I did notice some crappy gas mileage @ 29K,I changed my plugs w/ OEM,plugs are supposed to be changed every 30K I belive in that.

I also wanted to through this in,I dunno about you guys but I bought this truck to fully accomodate for me,wife 2 kids & a dog to tow our camper any where we want to go,I knew the gas mileage wouldn't be the greatest butMPG isn'twhatI bought it for.

Just installed a Power wire and reset the PCM, so we see how she goes now

 

i do mostly interstate to work and back around 30-45 miles and avg. 22-23. in town i am down around 18-19. and looking for any extra ways to get more. any suggestions? i have a replacement kn filter and a flowmaster 50 series with stock pipe and silver line exhaust tip. thats all i have done.

2006 quad cab with the 4.7H.O AWD and the 3.92 gears I get 12.9. I was getting 10.3 but then I installed a k&n cold air kit and it jumped right up to 12.9. I wish I was getting some of the numbers you guys are seeing...Eric

 

i get about 12 in the city and around 17.7 on the highway. only mod i have is a drop in k&n air filter. i got a 4.7 with AWD quad cab
