Default 4.7 owners what's your MPG.

OK, I have seen a few posts now of people askin what MPG they should be getting out of their Dak. I'm curious too. But as mine only has 350 miles on it, it's a little early for me to tell. Lets all post what we are getting. If you want to post some mods/tricks you did to increase your Daks mileage, by all means.

I get about 14.5 to 15 around town. Just over 16 highway, but haven't been on a long trip yet and I expect that 16 to end up being closer to 17.

i usually get about 13-15 mpg but thats mostly cause of the way i drive. and the fact that you mentioned your dakota only had 350 miles brought back memories because when my dakota had about 400 miles my friend rear ended my truck in his jeep wrangler. he did $1,200 worth of damage. i had to replace the bumper, there was a big dent behind the bumper in the body panel and he bent my trailer hitch, and there was virtually no damage done to his jeep just a very minor bend under his right headlight and another minor bend on his bumper

Can't believe some get over 18 mpg. With a 4.7. No mater how hard I try on the highway the best I ever got was 17.4and an average of 15.8. This actually is far better than Gray I with an average of 14.1. Oh well I knew it was a truck with a V8.

Last time I did any major highway driving it was about 18 mpg.
Mixed highway/street driving 15-16 mpg
In town about 12 -13 mpg

Then again knowing how this thing sucks gas, I am not whomping on the accelerator either. Smooth acceleration, no hard/quick stops, etc...

Mine only has 400 miles on it as well. I seem to be getting 7-9 mpg around town and 15-18 on the highway. This is according to the onboard computer, though.

Gray isn't yours an HO? I'm getting the same 15.8 average you are, mine's non-HO. Of course I'm not what you would call a passive driver by any means...
