Has anyone tried the turtle wax Ice products? I tried there liquid clay bar stuff and it did make the paint smoother but didn't really remove the swirl marks. I did do it by hand though maybe I need to invest in a buffer. So what is the best products to use? My truck really has a load of swirl marks and tiny scratches. Megulairs, Mothers, or turtle wax?

I guess it is all really just a matter of opinion. If you ask Night_Runner, he'll tell you Zaino. If you ask me, I would say Meguair's.

Are you talking about swirls like this?

Or like this?

liquid clay bar sucks from what i have heard...just go buy a meguiars clay bar and follow the instructions...keep the surface lubricated and if you drop the bar, DO NOT reuse it...as for best products....yes, i am a very firm believer in zaino....as for meguiars, i do love their 3 step system....also like their scratchX and plasticX...when it comes to waxes, yes, i love and would highly recommend meguiars....when you want long lasting protection, a sealant such as zaino is the way to go....and yes you can get the same deep crystal shine with a sealant as can be accomplished with a wax....you can get an even better shine if done right....see, you cant wax over a wax....it just doesnt layer....with sealants, you can layer creating more of a barrier and the more layers, the deeper the shine....but there are different products to layer and in different orders....

if you dont have a buffer and want to use a wax (honestly, i enjoy doing it by hand and would rather do it by hand than buffer, but a buffer can be less time consuming and easier and in some cases you need to slightly warm the paint, a buffer can do this, your hand cant) for either one of these, give it a nice wash then use some meguiars scratchX (dont just do the part that is apparent, do yourself a favor and do the whole car...and i like to use generous amounts of this product...may do a 2nd time if you wish) and follow that by meguiars 3 step wax system...it will look a lot better, but take your time and do it right...dont rush

Well, after washing the car, use a clay bar to get rid of the stuff on the surface. I'd say get the Meguiar's Clay Kit as it comes with two clay bars (you can cut one in half as it is more than enough), quik detailer, and a micro-fiber cloth.

Do you have a machine or do you know someone who has one?

If you have to do it by hand, you could try the Meguiar's Deep Crystal System. It consists of three products, a cleaner, a polish, and a wax (if you already have wax laying around you could you that). Just be prepared to spend some time as hand application is time consuming and to obtain the best results, you need to work on a small section at a time, for example the hood should be divided it into at least 8 sections.

However, if it is as bad as mine was you are going to want to find someone with a machine and use a more abrasive product like the M83 Dual Action Cleaner/Polisher. Even then, it took two passes to get rid of most of the cobwebbing and I still have scratches (they just don't show up in the picture).

OK, one thing I have never understood. Why do they allways say to doa little spot at a time? I have tried doing a vehicle in small areas, and doing the whole thing at once, and have never seen a difference. Mind you, I allways wax my rides at my firehall garage, inside where it's nice and cool LOL Membershop has it's priveledges
