Headers

for the little gains you get from headers with the 4.7 it is not worth the three hour install time or the money. the factory manifolds flow good enough.

What kind of gains are there? Any more info on that? Not doubting you, I just like to learn as much as I can.

I'm pretty sure you still get the gains out of the headers regardless of what engine but aren't the manifolds and in turn the headers different for both engines?
I know the reason you'd get performance from tuned headers is cuz they make it so all the pipes are the same size... I can about almost guarantee that the stock manifolds aren't tuned that way...and that the rear has shorter pipes than the front does...
I wish I had thought to save the site (it was on car domain somewhere), but someone had some pics of the stock headers and the gibson headers for an '05 Dak. The holes on the stock headers reduced in size rather quickly, and you really couldn't tell how long each tube was as it appeared to be almost one solid chunck of metal.
The gibson on the other hand appeared to maintain a steady steady size throughout and you could see that each tube was about the same size..

Not what Dak in Black was talking about but this is an interesting read: http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...ust_pipes_test
