Default Lift or Exhaust

Ok, so I keep changing my mind between getting the leveling kit & body lift vs the exhaust.

Then I started thinking, if I get the the exhaust first, would I have to take it back to the shop to adjust for the higher body? Don't want to have to pay twice for the installation, capiche?

i dont think lifting it would effect the exhaust, but i cant tell you for sure...when in doubt, do the lift then exhaust

well, if you plan on leaving the stock tires on with the body and lift kit. wont it look funny. and you may need to wait on the exhaust untill you do lift it.

At some point *after* I get the lift kit I am going to want to change out the tires (the OEM tires would look silly), but that won't be until the OEM ones are due for replacement.

Are the mounting points for the exhaust hangers on the the frame or the body (I've never really looked). If they are on the frame, then the exhaust will be low relative to the body in which case it would need to routed differently, no?

I looked at mine before the guy took it down off the lift when I had my exhaust done. I'm pretty sure the exhaust is mounted to the frame. Why not do the level kit and exhaust now and do a body lift later when you can get tires at the same time. The OEM tires don't look bad with just the level kit and it makes the truck look a lot better.

If you look in the bottom right of this pic you can see one of the exhaust hangars, looks like it's attached to the frame, if it's not still raining tomorrow I'll try and get a better picture of it after work.

(pic is huge, that's why I didn't post it in the thread)

I personally don't think you'll have to worry about adjusting the exhaust after you lift it. I'd have the exhaust bent where it runs down the cneter of the truck.

It does attach to the frame. The tailpipe will sit a few inches under the edge of the body after you lift it, but it can be easily re-adjusted to look correct. the rest of the system will run behind the frame.

i would save the money for your wheels/exhaust/lift and maybe purchase them one at a time....but then have the lift put on one day, the wheels the next, and exhaust the next....although i hate having something and then not putting it on....it killed me to not put on my fire&ice bar 1st second i got it yesterday, but i just had other crap to tend to....so buy it all at once, and then have them put on one right after the other
