wtf is composite. is it like the press board that they make plywood out of? or is it fiberglass? i would rather have a steel hood. then some flimsy piece of card board.
My '04 Tbird has composite hood trunk and front fenders. It works great, the car was in a hailstorm in Texas while new on the lot. The rear fender , windshield frame and driver door got baseball size dents but the composite was fine!

its as close to carbon fiber as you can get without using actual C.F... its a way to make fiberglass stronger in flat areas. (where its weakest.)

I wouldn't be surprised it they use metal mesh in the middle of those hoods...
So would you guess it to be lighter or heavier than the stock hoods?

how would you go about painting it? if it is a special composite then it might cost and arm and a leg to color match the truck

i was just on my other site and a ram owner just received his composite hood went to the local shop and they wanted to charge 600.00 to prep and paint the hood. and it was off the truck. does this sound correct for composite? if so you can forget about me purchasing one. i would be better off getting a scoop and pop riveting on.

Definately the Ram Air hood for me. But then, I am a Pontiac Nut as well And as far as painting, Composite is the same as Fiberglass. They have applied a Gel coat to the hood, so regular painting techniques for painting
