Default First Oil Change

Why the hell does the factory have to put the oil filter on so F'n tight. I use filter pliers to remove the filters on all the cars i do. This time it took everthing that i had to get it off. I even ended up squeezing the pliars so hard i put holes in the filter. But i finally got it off. That is the reason the dealer will never do a oil change for me. They do the same thing the factory does.

I had the same problem with my 3.7, they put it on so tight and you cant get anything on there, I ended up using channel locks after about two hours and a completely destoyed filter.

I punched a hole in mine with a flat tip screwdriver, drained it, and then used the screwdriver as leverage to twist it off. The oil pan caught most of the mess and the filter was off in a few minutes.

I punched a hole in mine with a good sized screwdriver too but all it did was cut the filter in half as I turned it[&:]

Yea my filter was on tight too. I completely crushed the filter trying to get it off. These auto companies make thing so difficult for us do it yourselfers.
