curt they are called autolites and the part number is 3923, specifically for our motor. i swapped out the plugs myself when i was 19, you'll need tools and time but its possible. if im not mistaken they are placed the same way as our v8's. however, i dont know if 3923 is for a v6...autozone has it alllll on their computer so ask them.

I read on this site www.v8performance.com/tipsandtricks.htm that the 3923 plugs work well in the 4.7L. I am going to install a set when its time to.

I'm going to try the Denso 100 % pure Iridiums and I will let you all know. If worse comes to worse I'll settle for the Autolites.

ORIGINAL: superdak05

i had the platnum plugs for about 1 month and got rid of them. i lost between 45/50 miles to a tank of gas. went back to the factory champions and got my milage back but every now and then the truck would idle funny at a stop sign or traffic light. swithced out the factory champions for the autolite 3293 and what a difference. much smoother idle and still the same great gas milage. other thing i noticed is with the a/c on and you stomp on it the truck doesnt hesitate like the champions did. squats the *** end and away you go. these are good plugs and will be keeping them all 8 at walmart were 10.50. the plats were like 3.50 a plug for garbage.

So I dropped $20 bucks today on a set of AP3923 (platinum) plugs and you're telling me I wasted 8 bucks and should have just gone with the copper 3923? [:@]What's with a "better" plug not working like a copper core plug? AndI thought I was doing good by going with the platinum.

BTW, I haven't installed them yet so I can take them back tomorrow and exchange for coppers if I know for sure that's the better way to go.
