Default Spark Plugs

Which plug is the best for the 4.7L?

I'm leaning towards the Bosch Platinum Ir Fusion plugs, but I also trust Champion a lot better.

The big thing about the new Bosch's is they combine Platinum and Iridium in the core.

Can anyone suggest what they know or use?

platinums suck in these engines....

I'd go with Autolite 3923.... myslef and a few others have them... and they help a lot...

I have read many times that our plugs in the 4.7 where gaped wrong from the factory. I have not pulled my plugs yet to check them. I do know if they are all over the place then that would be a problem. I will end up changing them out round 30k but with what I’m not sure until the suggestions point to a plug that seems to work well for most. Autolite always got good reviews by owners and platinum’s always where over rated especially for the money.

A quick explaination of why platinum - With it as part of the electrode, the plugs can run hotter without burning the electrode. Hotter plugs burn the carbon deposits off better than colder plugs. Advertizing 100,000-mile plug life is viewed as a good thing.
Personally I have tried Autolite 3923s and while the engine runs smoother with them, I suspect that I can get better performance with a different plug. I'll swap another brand in as tima allows and complre results.

i had the platnum plugs for about 1 month and got rid of them. i lost between 45/50 miles to a tank of gas. went back to the factory champions and got my milage back but every now and then the truck would idle funny at a stop sign or traffic light. swithced out the factory champions for the autolite 3293 and what a difference. much smoother idle and still the same great gas milage. other thing i noticed is with the a/c on and you stomp on it the truck doesnt hesitate like the champions did. squats the *** end and away you go. these are good plugs and will be keeping them all 8 at walmart were 10.50. the plats were like 3.50 a plug for garbage.

From what I've been told the platinums are bad for our trucks.... period.

I've been thinking about the iridium myself, but I haven't heard of anyone using them yet.
