Hey KillerCummins if you don't mind my asking what are you getting for mileage? I've heard a few guys saying they were getting over 20mpg out of those Cummins.

I dunno, I do have to say I am very, very pleased with our 06 3.7 liter dak, that thing can take some serious s!@#. We towed a 93 jeep GC for 100 miles on a dolley with the bumper hitch (6000 lbs) and it pulled great, stopped well too. Hunted for gears a bit but T/H fixed that.

I'm getting 11.56 on average. Thats miles/gallons used, but at the same time, my odometer is still calibrated for my stock tires. I would hope that I'm getting about 13 (stock tires I believe are 31.75" diameter and the overall of my nittosare 37.5"). On the cummins subforum it was posted that I can recalibrate my speedo with my triple dog, and I'm hoping that will do my odometer as well. I think it will, and if it does I'll let you know if your still interested.

The guys in the cummins sub-forum may be able to help you find some mods to get more mileage out of yours, from what I've seen it seems like some guys with the diesels get better mileage than we do so that may be your best route.

I think the best thing I can do for mileage is regear and slow down. Randy's ring and pinion has the package deal to switch to 4.56s for $1200. Right now I'm running the stock 3.73s. I think that could help a lot. As for slowing down, that Sh** aint happening. I live/commute right along the Texas/mexico border and the mexican nationals drive like there still in mexico, its the scariest thing in the world driving your 40K $ truck next to a vw that doesn't signal when changing lanes and drives in the turn lane. I just tune her up to highway speed and no one can keep up.

my own personal opinion, withthe prices of diesel compared to gas down here in southern ca, I am planning on going to a 2500 diesel when the time comes because i've heard they can get better mileage than my avg of 14-17mpg in my truck. Also the new dak coming out with it's improved V8 might kick it up a notch from our current daks, so that's something to look into, waiting another month or few to get the 2008 if you're looking at it.
