http://ask.cars.com/2007/07/premium-gasolin.html Not worth it unless you need to run higher grade due to engine or mods.

RE: 180 degree thermostat question
93 octane is only better if your engine detonates(pings) on lower octane. The best octane for both performance and mileage is the lowest that your engine likes. Higher octane has a slower burn rate which allows higher compression and more ignition advance. Our 4.7s have aluminum heads which allow higher compression without needing as high octane rating.
It's a 'balancing' thing. Sometimes, if you're not pushing it, an engine that likes 93 octane will run okay with no detonation on 91 or 89 or even 87.
If you buy cheap(non-brand) gas, you will need higher octane because of evaporation that happens before you buy it. (I know there is lots of debate on that topic.)

when i first bought the truck i told the dealer not to fill the tank. they looked at me a little funny. i first put 89 in, never 87 and truck ran fine. until i started to put stuff into it. then it started to go but not like i wanted it too. untill the big change of cams and flashing. now its only 92/93 anything else and it does not seem right. even cruising the truck sounds mean but up on wot watch out it just screams. i dont care if gas goes up to 4.00 a gallon i will never run anything else but 92/93. i tried the 89 and it was terrible. gas mileage was not the same and i had to baby the truck until i got the crap gas out. and then it took about two tanks of the good stuff until the truck was happy again
