6inch lift for 4x4!! Chassis Tech.
#23
This is from back when I first joined the forum......
I suppose I will contribute. I would rather have fuctional than cool looking. Being that I live in a place that actually requires a 4x4, I am not as hillbilly as some. There is no sense in lifting a truck that see's nothing but asphalt. Just like: there is no sense in slamming a truck that see's snow 7 months out of the year....

I know this is an old worn out subject both "lift kit" and "chassi tech." but i contacted them about the lift. I figured i would volunteer my truck to try this lift and either be the first! or curse my self later..... but the 6" kit they say is "in stock" is actually still in final testing with no projected eta.

Lowering the rear end on these trucks doesnt even take away from your 4x4 capabilities, IMO. You will loose a little flex, but you should still be able to fit any tire that you would have been able to without the lowering kit. The amount of capability that you would loose is minimal; almost like the gain you get from a leveling kit - not much. These trucks have ground clearance issues regardless of what you do short of actually lifting the body to get bigger tires or doing custom suspension to get that front frame off the ground.
