you really dont nees to reset it. after a few times just starting and stoping from running errans it will turn it self off. but the correct way is to remove the neg. battery cable. turn key to start and hold for 20 seconds. then rehook neg battery cable up start truck and take it for a ride. that way the computer will regain its memory for all the other aftermarket stuff on the truck if any.

I have a ?....why would you have to disconnect the battery for 20 seconds? taking the battery off for a second does the same job as if you took it off for any longer...sorry thats just me i guess.

It takes longer than 1 second for the pcm to lose all residual power. Has to do with how the circuitry is designed and the components used, you've probably been told never to open up a TV because they can give you a hell of a jolt even after being unplugged for awhile right?

The real way to reset the computer is....[sm=roll.gif][sm=joke.gif]

So many different people with so many different ways to reset the computer. Just take a magnet to it and then take it into the dealership to have it replaced....[sm=joke.gif]. They all work I guess, but like what SuperDak said, it'll go away soon on it's own.
