odd, strange, unusual... My wife took the truck out today(these things only happen to my wife) and the f@&*!n thing died on her! This is a leftover 06 w/ 3,000 miles. I looked at it on the side of the road for 5 min. and found that the ground wire running from the computer was completely loose. Tightened it and fired 'er right up. The check engine light is on still, probably from the computer being reset? How long will it take to reset?
I was told once to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes. Rehook and then turn the ignition all the way to on, but don't start it. Leave it in the on position for 2-3 minutes then cut it off. Take the key out, put key back in and start the truck. That is suposed to recall the check engine light and it should stay off after that.
That, or you can PROPERLY reset it, by opening the fuse box, and pulling all the fuses that say PCM on them.... and then get inside, and turn the key to Start for 15 seconds.... hear the chime, replug the fuses, and close the fuxe box...
