lets talk.in order to run the new 212 cams there is going to need alot of work done to the truck .not only would you use a bigger tb. but you need to swap out your torque conveter for a different stall speed. need different gears because the torque rating will be higher. i also looked into these cams and just decided to stick with the 206 that i have. plus the 212 definitly needs the pcm flash where the 206 you can use the stock settings
You should still get the ECU flashed with the 206 since you're pretty much changing a major part of your engine. The 212's would be nice, but way too much work.
The ecu controls the engine, fuel mappings, timing, shift points, etc... flashing it refers to loading new software on that would work better with the cams.
