212 cam question?

Default 212 cam question?

i want to buy a cam but do i need anything with it or just a bigger throttle body?

lets talk.in order to run the new 212 cams there is going to need alot of work done to the truck .not only would you use a bigger tb. but you need to swap out your torque conveter for a different stall speed. need different gears because the torque rating will be higher. i also looked into these cams and just decided to stick with the 206 that i have. plus the 212 definitly needs the pcm flash where the 206 you can use the stock settings

So in a manual tranny, all I'd need would be the PCM flash, and the bigger TB?

Correct?

so the 206 cam you dont need to change all the gears, torque conveter etc?

You should still get the ECU flashed with the 206 since you're pretty much changing a major part of your engine. The 212's would be nice, but way too much work.

what is an ecu flashed. u plug something in and play around with the gears?

The ecu controls the engine, fuel mappings, timing, shift points, etc... flashing it refers to loading new software on that would work better with the cams.

same ecu, just take it out, send it to whoever does it, they reprogram it for you, get it back and put it in right?
