Nowick, what kind of sub are you running? I like your setup,I considered going that route but with the excursion of the JBL sub I was worried about it hitting my console.
Funny that in all of my searches I never found that one.

I think that with the depth of that area, and the way the cupholders are, it you wanted to run a single 8W7, it would be fine. On the other hand, you are losing the only cup holders for rear passengers.
I am starting to work on a fiberglass setup for alpine type S 10's... The new models that are only 4.4 deep. Sure, you will not be able to flip the seat up, but you will gain frequency response and in the unlikley event of an accident... you wont have a sub enclosure flying in the cabin.
After I build this one, I will post up pics... but with how work has been it wont be real soon.

A 10" would not fit where I put mine unless you made it way higher than the centerconsole then you run intointernal volume constraints, my box is made of 1/2" Mdf (braced thoroughly). I usually use 3/4 MDF but even going to the 1/2" I came up with a .39 Cubic Ft of interior space which is right in the reccomended range for my sub. Most 10's start at .50 Cubic ft or more for a sealed enclosure. On another note I did come from a commander with 2 12"s in optimized ported enclosures and while this8" does not thump outside the vehicle thesound inside is powerful. I dont mis the 12"s too much. Definately impressed with this little guy.
