Yup. Drop it down to 60-70 mph and you'll be getting much better mpgs.

yeah, i hear ya there...it's definitely an understandable reason to go 80-90...just sucks in the economy department. i'd do the same thing if there wasn't the possibility of a state trooper around every corner/under every overpass.

I get like 390 miles to a tank... but I mainly drive only highway...

This tank, however, I may only get 200 outta it...

Stupid school, and all these freaking hills.

it depends on how i am driving, the only time i have ever had the light come on i was at 27x, and i had been driving the thing real hard, up and down the hills in my town in stop and go traffic bc of construction, and it took like 17.x gallons, so idk if my light comes on real early, or what

What is this overhead: another SLT gadget I guess!! Per the manual, the light comes on at 1/8 of a tank. That's just under 3 gallons. As big and heavy as this truck is, I start to get nervous. My drive home is 30 miles with Baltimore traffic. The last 1/4 tank seems to go a lot faster than the others!!! Anywho, I always wait for the light to come on (mostly because I'm lazy). I get around 325 miles per tank and it's usually 20.x gallons. I'm averaging between 16.0 and 16.8 miles per gallon. The morning coomute is about 70~75mph for the most part while the evening commute is 45~55mph. There are parts in both where I'll go from 0~70~0. The V6 really suffers doing this especially with hills. I try to keep it under 2,000rpm and definitely under 2,500rpm.

I've never had the light come on since I've had the truck. On long trips I know roughly how much gas it will use so I stop and fill up partway if I'll need to. Otherwise I always top off when it's around 1/4, I like being able to just take off and go somewhere on a whim and not worry about how much gas is in the tank.

I try to fill it up before the fuel light comes on, but it's come on a few times, but I've never run out of gas and I've had the DTE hit zero once or twice. I'm trying to be better about that and keep more than 1/4 tank of gas in the tank at all times now.
