Hey the 08' just hit the dodge site...............

 

4.7L= 302HP/329TQ. Now those are some respectable V-8 numbers!
MSRP starting at over $20G, those numbers need to go down.

 

The 08s ordering process is screwed up. You seem to not be able to get the TRX-4 package on the Laramie as it used to be. I tried to build one on line and NCD! I tried to do the opposite like start with the TRX package and add some Laramie stuff like leather seats and Mineral Gray paint and you guessed it, NCD! You can’t get 4 wheel anti-lock brakes either without getting a $600 plus safety package that includes side air bags. Now either the web site is very limited on building a truck on line or the option list is screwed up. Someone else try and see if you have better luck,

Not a bad looking truck, its nice that they hp went up, but I still the the 3G better, the inside on the '08s might be a little nicer though.

 

Yeah, definitely seems like the fixed up the interior a bit...and I really do like the revised front end, too. Definitely looks better as a Sport than in chrome.

 

I'm pissed I just noticed that they offer the '08 in a sunburst orange color, I totally would have got that over the black...I'm also wondering if those fender flares on the '08 TRX would fit our 3G daks, I like how the front fender flare extends onto the front bumper unlike the Bushwaker flares.

 

33 and some change....I know it sounds like blasphemy but I would choose a full size ford over a dakota for that price

 

im not saying i wouldnt, just built one with everything i could want...as for compairing them to the 3rd gen...it still is the same generation, much like the 02 ram vs the 08 ram.....just some revisions, thats all...same gen

 

Went to build one but I couldn't get what I wanted anyway. Booo at dodge for no standard transmission! Also even the sport package doesn't get rid of the hideous chrome bezels around the head lights. As far as I'm concerned with the exception of the new 4.7, an 08 specced out the same way as mine would be a downgrade for me, I used to think our front ends were ugly, lol.
