Default Flowmaster and removing Resonators

I had Flowmaster 40 series installed. When I went on the test drive, I could barely tell the difference from the stock muffler. I went back to the shop and had them replace the resonator (from the the muffler to the header) with a straight pipe. This helped the sound, but not much.

So, here's my question. Has anyone replaced both resonators with straight pipes? How much louder is it?

Also, I went from 13.5 mpg to 15.6

What's the sound like on the highway? Is it annoying? I like the rumble, but don't want the "dronning" cabin sound on the highway.

I put a 50 series on my truck and left the resonator onand it sounds great, it's not load just driving around easy but you can hear it when you get on it good.
I have a daul outlet 80 series on my Neon and you hear it all of the time! driving down the freeway at 80 and have to almost yell to be heard. JK But it is load and is always setting off car alarms!!! LOL

Today, I had the last resonator removed. That made the biggest difference. It definetly sounds like a V8. My biggest concern was a "dronning" sound on the highway, but it wasn't very noticable after it shifted into overdrive. I'm definetly happy with the results. Not a bad way to spend $140, not to mention the gas miliage increase. I guess my next mod will be a K&N intake.

Today I took my truck back to the muffler shop and had them remove the rear resonator, OMG!! does it sounds nice!!! I can hear it when I'm setting at a red light and the sound it makes when I take off is awesome!! Not too sure how the boss is going to like it! LOL I got the CAI & Flowmaster by her, because she really couldn't hear it that much, but now she is going to hear it..................
