so, after a slight unfortunate event lol that cost me some money, I decided this would be a great thing to have when people with SMALL cars decide to park their car up my truck's butt. It's a really nice system, cost $45 shipped, only $10 to me becaus eI found some old ebay gift certs I had gotten at Christmas.

I always just make sure I leave enough room in front of me to get out. Everyone else crowds up on me anyways so screw pulling forwards and leaving them more room!

 

i went and purchased one of theose trailer hitch steps that slides into the hitch so you can climb into and out of the truck bed. thats what i use to back up with. better to smashed into the frt of the car with that then using the trucks bumper

 

i could most definately use that, im not the best at backing up, especially with my taillight covers, my tint, and no rear mounted fog lights

 

lol I need to get more fog lights, my last ones were completely damaged when my truck got rearended at the end of summer. So I just need to figure where I can mount smaller ones in a more hidden area.

 

what size holes did you have to drill for those sensors/how hard was the install?

 

Very nice! I wish I would have had them a couple of weeks back when I bumped into a brand new 300M with my brand-new Dakota. It wasn't too bad on my Dak - the top plastic part on the corner of my rear-bumper popped-off and I just snapped it back in, but the poor kid who had parked behind me got a dent above his rear passenger wheel.

 

yeah tell me about it; that's why I got these, backed into a custom built porsche. Didn't damage my bumper, just some slight scratches on the underside of it, but yeah I did a number on his fiberglass bumper and the tip of his hood, so after $1,100 in damages I thought $50 or s would be a good idea to prevent that again.

Installation:
Uhm I had to drill with a hole saw, 7/8" holes in the bumper. These were the biggest holes I had ever drilled on my truck, and I've drilled a lot....I was sweating a hurricane and praying like a nation during each drill. But they turned out ok! It was kind of hard to install, but it made it easier that I have a hole drilled in my floor (I can unseal and seal it as i wish) that I have wires running from the cab to the exterior already. I mounted the control box on a tab just forward of where my spare goes, and then the wires got tied up in there so that they don't go flapping around while driving. I just spliced the power for it into my reverse lights so that it comes on when I go to backup.
