RE: Challenger
ok devils reject thanx for the website...that was perfect.
4x4 you ARE wrong because there is new info as of this month saying r/t and srt have 6.1 until 2009 when srt gets 6.4. and NO SUCH THING as a 7.4 so please check your facts, 7.4 is outrageous and unheard of for the challenger...
you guys should check it out. there is even more info coming after thanksgiving. the first run of challengers will be around april 08 and only be 6.1 srt 8's.

The 520hp 6.4L/392ci Hemi V8 is only available as a crate motor at this time, according to the SRT reps at SEMA they don't even have a tuning package available for the current LX platform for this motor - it's all setup for standalone installation in vintage Mopars. There has been rumors of Dodge putting this motor into the entire SRT-8 lineup for 2009, but as far as I'm aware that's all it is - rumors.
There is a handful of aftermarket companies stroking the 6.1L/370ci Hemi V8 out to 426ci, but they're charging an arm and a leg for the conversions, way more than your average crate/stroker motor. I don't see Dodge rushing out to use this on the SRT platform, because it would begin to compete with the Viper, and there's no way that Dodge would infringe on their premium brand. Dodge has fed a bunch of B.S. about why they haven't produced a Hemi-based Dakota R/T, many of us suspect that's because it would have spanked the Ram SRT-10.
