They put their good engines in the Rams... they wouldn't put anything that good into the new Dak, because it actually is just as big as mid-90s full-size trucks. They could put the big engines in the last generation because it was smaller than the current one.
but im sure they could beef up our 4.7 at least! they did it somewhat to the new 08...but it can go further. Definitely if the 4bang can put it out they can do SOMETHING to the 8...ugh...oh well...guess we'll just have to wait...
Remember we own trucks and it is the torque that is important, cant strap a boat to a srt4. Look at the RPM it has to turn to get that HP, I'm sure real world HP is less that 285. They have to make the srt4 to offer the kids a car such a the wrx, saturn rediline, evo ect... Lord knows there needs to be more cars that idiots can hang tin can mufflers from to sound like a pissed off bumbble bee going down the road. I think there is a small population that wants a performance truck. Think DC realized that with the poor sales of the srt10. The supped up 4 bangers are quick and still get good miliage.
I think a true R/T Dakota would sell a lot more than the SRT10, I love that truck but it's out of most people's price range...
