got part numbers by chance? More less just remove the black caps and plug something in? I'll stop by tomorrow. I need a tow harness and although the factory thing is insanely overpriced I don't want to cut the wires so I guess I will bit the bullet

Just ask for the 05 cruise switches, they look the same as the black pices that are in your wheel right now. They have pics on the computer at the parts desk. And i believe resse or what ever it is has a harnes that is plug in not cutting. All i did was take the ground off my batt. remove the air bag(there are 2 or 3 10mm bolts on the rear side). remove the dummy switches(philips screws). and put the new ones in( there are two, three wire plugs already there). Easy as that, and i would get the part numbers for you but i am outa town.oh yeh i would wait 10 mins or so after cutting the power i am always scared of the airbag going off.

not that it is hard to reach the stereo or anything, just wondering if the stock ST stereo is compatible with the wheel controls - did you do those too?

thx!

Mikey - sounds great, very encouraging. I'll check up in the clutch interrupt switch; I also assume that if yours was plug and play, then the cruise/brake interrupt works fine, so hopefully the clutch interrupt is there for me.

Anyway, I'll look it up in my service manual and go back to the parts dept.

I bit the bullet and bought the tow harness also, all 3 things (2 switches and harness) cost $208 out the door, which is pretty good since the harness was supposed to be $180 and the stitches about $50 together. harness is overpriced but getting a bit of a deal helps I guess. I'll stop by after work today.

sweet, I just plugged in the buttons and went for a test drive! What an easy mod..

Directions:
1. Remove negative on battery (wait two minutes for capacitor discharge)
2. Remove 2 10mm bolts from back of steering wheel to loosen airbag (no need to remove it, I didn't anyway)
3. Use a phillips head screwdriver to remove the two blanks, they have the wires attached to them as if they were the real buttons so simply swap the connecters over to the new ones and reassemble it all and connect the battery.

Done!
