What do you guys think?
Welcome to Graythang-1 noise. What’s weird that it just started? Every one who I read about with this including me it started within the first 2,500 miles if not from the get go. Valve lash adjusters. Mostly from the right side, right? They where or still are having issued on the 08 4.7salso with noise and other problems.
I would definitely take it in, show the dealer that video if you can. Something does not sound right. The dealers always say they can't duplicate things it seems, especially when it's covered by a warranty
its been there from the get go, now has 31k on it and its worse. pull into mcdonalds and I swear there is a diesel around.going to put my exhaust back on and take it in again

I always e wondered if the noise would get worse over time. Now I guess I got my answer. It’s been said the collaborate is the valve lash adjusters so I guess they’re not adjusting to normal ware. One guy got a new engine out of Dodge and he's happy. I got a new truck but then again there where a bunch of other crap besides the noise on Gray-1. Get her done and don't let them pull any **** on you.
sounds like an exhaust leak to me. check to see if any bolts broke from the manifolds. as far as the lash caps i dont think so. when we had my cams out these caps lock in pretty tight. or you could have a bank of nisy fuel injectors. but take it in with the video, you cany go wrong with it

I'll tell you though, I'm getting REALLY tired of the problems I've had with this truck. The first year and 15,000 miles or so it was fine. Ever since then though I have it to the dealer at least a few times a year to get crap fixed. The AC freezes on a trip after constant use in 80-90 degree heat. It's been in twice for that and they've replaced parts but nothing fixes it. It was still freezing up this past August. The front end clunks and shudders like it's going to fall out. They say there's nothing wrong with it though (rolls eyes). The driver's seat frame broke and I had to make two trips there to get it fixed since they couldn't get the part in for two weeks. The trans has had the throwout and pilot bearings replaced once already and they had the ***** to tell me I ride the clutch. And now it's shifting like a piece of crap again, but this time they say there's nothing wrong with it (my eyes are gonna' roll out of my head soon). The fender needed body work and repainting last year because the paint around the antenna mount peeled and rusted. They weren't going to fix that because they said it was from a carwash, but after fighting with them for a week they finally 'convinced' Chrysler to cover it. I just had it in two weeks ago to get that redone because the sanding scratches had come through the paint and they had burned through the clearcoat. Now I have to take it back AGAIN because they left the antenna loose and it rattles like a snake. They just replaced the rear sway bar bushings last time it was there because they were clunking like mad (at least they found something wrong with THAT). The paint has chips in places you wouldn't think anything could chip it (like in the crack between the front and rear doors) and they tell me that's not covered and that I did that opening the door into something (WTF!?!). Then there's the above-mentioned exhaust leak. And I KNOW I'm forgetting some other stuff.
Don't even get me started and things like the shudder while braking at high speed and other crap I've had them look into only for them to tell me there's nothing wrong.
