Default Need opinions!!! CAI problems

Last Saturday, i changed the plugs (autolite 5224 and i know) and put a K&N CAI on all with out trouble, plugs took a little while but, CAI was a breeze especially with the instruction. Started Truck and over next two days drove 60-70 miles without any problems, then the check engine light came on. The truck ran"ok" but not as good as i thought it should with updates. Took to my mechanic which said it was a "mechanical glitch". Got the truck back, ran great for 60 more miles then engine light came back on? its an 05 with 47k v8 4.7 50 series flowmaster, be for cai i had just a kn replacement filter. Any suggestions(other than not going with autolite3923) on what the **** the problem is.

Go to Autozone and pull the code with their codereader. It's free and will probably give you an idea what's going on.

Maybe the new filter is over oiled and has your air sensor fouled up? Happened to my step dad's cai on his tick. Pop out your sonsor and hit it with some brake cleaner, see if that helps.

are you talking the sensor that you put in the new intake tube?
Yes, if it gets too much oil on it from an overoiled filter, it will throw a code. My step dad's ford with a K&N did it and i had a simiar problem with a car i used to have. Just sprayed the that sensore down to clean it off, and i worked fine.

after you did the upgrades, did you reset the pcm? if not pull the neg. battery cable. then take ignition and turn it all the way and hold it there for 20 sec. this will clear the pcm. reconnect the battery cable and start and stop truck 3 times. on the third time let truck run for a while to learn the new air paramiters. this may be the cause of the problem.

You could do that, or do the way I like to do...

Open hood, close eyes, and start pulling fuses, and then guess where they go back....

...or not, that was a joke... btw... ;-)
