Bad Gas Mileage
ORIGINAL: pro4x4
If you live in a cold climate you will get worse gas mileage in the winter because of the winter blend fuel. I have an 05 club cab V8 4x4.I am lucky to get 12 mpg in the winter. Summer I get 14.5 to 15mpg doing all city type driving. The best thing to do is install an electric fan. You will see at least 2 mpg more. The key to getting better gas mileage in the winter besides going light on the go pedal is to get the engine up to operating temperature as quickly as possible. An electric fan will allow this to happen because it only comes on when needed.

Wow, I'm pretty much stock, just put in the 3923 plugs and synthetic fluids and I usually get 14-15 mpg around town and 17-18 or better on the highway in the winter...even better in the summer...I'd venture to guess that something's wrong with your's.
I think everyone's definition of "city" driving may be different. My city driving is mostly stop and go a red light every mile or two then changes to a short stretch of highway maybe 2 miles and then back to stop and go. Traffic also has a lot to do with it. Irun intoa lot of traffic driving home and very little going to work so there are many factors that play into it. Some may see better mileage some may not depending on your driving situation. So no matter what do dads you add or liquids you pour in your gas mileage will always be either better or worse than everyone else because of how you drive.

my definition of city is this:
I work for pepsi, I service our accounts in 3 countys. I have 6-9 stores I go to every day. They are all in towns that have stop lights. I drive around 100 miles of in town, stopping at a lot of grocery stores/ gas stations/ party stores/ red lights/ stop signs... I do a lot of stoping going, starting stopping. I dont thinks thats too far off of what CITY driving means?
