Default Adding Cruise on a 6 Speed

Several guys here have bought the $50 cruise control switches from a dealer, and the word is it's a super easy install and works seamlessly. Has anyone done this with a manual? My only concern is that there isn't a cruise interrupt switch on the clutch.

Well, I know my truck has cruise and it's a 6spd...

I'm not 100% sure on what else would be needed, but I do know it can be done! :-)

Same here. I have a 6spd with cruis-o-matic.

I think cramerican is on to something though. It wouldn't seem to make sense that Dodge would put an interrupt sensor on the clutch of every truck with a manny tranny. But then...Dodge has been known to do some pretty weird things.[&:]

doesn't really make sence that all I had to do was plug a switch in to get my cruise to work either, nor does it make sense that I bought a dodge made for my truck wiring harness for towing and it doesn't use the factory fuses, bleh..

Brandon,

So, do you happen to have a part number for that switch? I called my dealership asking for it, and was told that it was a whole kit...$250+ a star scan...$100. I am quite sure my dealership parts guys are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, so that may explain it.

Any thoughts?

Frenchy -

I don't doubt that I could install the switches and have it cruise, but I'm worried that if I'm cruising and want to downshift, pushing in the clutch would redline the engine. However, the computer holds the revs for a couple seconds when the clutch is in, so maybe it knows where the pedal is...

I'm speculating because the Dodge service tech had no idea one way or the other; shocking.

I'd like to try the switches and return them if they don't work...if they use quick connects (I'm sure they do), maybe the service department would help me out with that.
