Default First wave of upgrades!

So I just finished having my Python 871XP Alarm/Remote Start, K&N 60 series Intake, and my 265/75/16 BFG Mud Terrains.

Love the remote start, keyless entry. A MUST HAVE!

K&N- Better throttle response maybe a couple pony's.

BFG's- Robbed some power of course but well worth the $ Loud... but not too bad.

Next Up!

Exaust- Single Side Exit, still deciding on which brand. Any Suggestions?

Fastman T.B.

Speakers all around.

Anybody have any suggestions for Head Units? I would like something that fills up the stock space.

I had Cuircit City Install, BIG MISTAKE!!! I was without my truck for 12 hours!!! only had to pay for the cost of the system though. $325
No Prox Sensors but can add them later, I need to go back and have them adjust the sensitivity, I can move my truck before the alarm goes off.
And it only runs for 12 min. needs to be bumped up to the 24 min. setting.
Wish I had the instruction to do this myself.

you need a bit writer to change the times without pulling it down...

but you can do it.

You need to have the programming switch and the programming LED... (they probably didnt leave them hooked up...)

The install manual is easy enough to find. I think directeds website even has it.

I think I am going to use the new "programmable" bypass from directed. You dont have to build as many relays for locks and ignitions.........

Its all still up in the air though. Depending on tax returns.

Let me know if you have any issues with MIL and the remote start... I have been reading a lot of tech articles that say the 05+ D. Ch. and jeeps and it is saying MIL and Airbag are a problem if the remote start doesnt have the proper OHM loads on ALL wires.
I am running a Viper 5900 SST with remote start that I got for Christmas. I have had zero problems with the system or remote start at all. Cost me a decent bit to have it installed but I did not have the time (or honestly the knowledge considering how sensitive our trucks computerized systems are) to do it right. I had mine done at a local shop where I've known the guy for awhile, brought my truck in, spoke with his installer for awhile (he only uses one guy, trusted friend of his) was very impressed with the installer. Took him 3-4 hours to install it, I've looked it over as well as I can without removing dash panels and I am very impressed with the work he did. He did mention that our trucks are very particular about the ohm loads in general (he also told me how to wire the fog lights to stay on w/ high beams without throwing a code. I wish I had written that down because I forgot what he said ). I also know that he used a directed module to interface with the door locks, I'm guessing that's the module you're referring to Eric.

Next time I am home I am going to have him change a few things in the programming with the bitwriter, I'll ask him about the foglights again then. He seemed very knowledgeable about the electrical systems on our trucks, said he's done quite a few of them and they are a pain in the a**, lol.

For exhaust I would pick a muffler and have a local shop do it. I had a local guy rip out the factory muffler and resonators and install a Cherry Bomb Vortex muffler and a Hooker Headers dual tip I picked up off ebay. Cost me $140 or so including buying the tip from ebay although he gave me a bit of a discount on the muffler and install because I've had work done by him on past vehicles. (Muffler usually sells for $100, same price he sells the Flowmaster 40's at). I had it done side exit in front of the rear tire, I'll see if I can find the thread I made after I got it and throw a link here for you.

Altair, Did your Exhaust help much in the power side of things? I am hoping that I can gain a little power back from those tires.

I think it helped very slightly, right now it's mainly for the sound, exhaust and intake should make much more of a difference, I can't afford a k&n right now so I'm still running the restrictive factory intake. I may try making my own out of pvc for a temporary solution (I can get as much pvc as I want for free anyway so I figure might as well).

Also are you sure your remote can't vibrate? I'd read the manual, it explains how to enable that for mine in the manual but I left it off to save battery, plan on using a lot of AAA's lol.

exhaust by itself doesnt help much, CAI by itself doesnt help much, together you can feel a huge difference
