I have had both bfg a/t and bfg mud terrains and i would have to say the all terrains are overall the choice tire. Dont get me wrong, the mud terrains were pretty awesome especially with the 3ply sidewall but i prefer the a/t bc of the better mpg. Mud terrains took it down 1.5 mpg!

I have sold tires for several years and have been around all the brands. If you want the best mileage Michelin is tops in the lowest rolling resistance and the best ride. But they are also one of the most expensive. Bridgestone Duellers are good for traction and I like the bridgestone Revos for overall quiet ride and good winter traction. Yokahama geolanders are a nice tire also. I sold generals for a few years and I think their quality is not as good as most of the others. I have also seen a lot of Cooper built tires with poor build quality. Stay away from any tire made in China because they have had numerous recalls in the last few years. Goodyear tires work well in the winter but don't deliver as long of mileage. SInce I have my choice of tires I always run a good winter tire in the winter with plenty of sipes and a mild all terrain in the summer.
