I dealt with that issue a while ago when I was looking for a 1" kit for the rear of mine. I wanted to put a 1" block in the back at the same time I installed my leveling kit in the front to even it up.

What the bolts most of these places sell don't fit is the 9.25" rear that came in some of the '05 models. From what I saw, the kits out there all sell bolts for the 8.25" rear. Some '05 Dakotas had one rear, and some had the other.

Every basically just told me to go to a spring shop and have them bend bolts for you.

any idea what made the differences in size, like how to tell without having to measure which one I have? Also, for the 9.25" do you have the exact dimensions they would need to be for the 2" blocks? or if any of these will work, which ones? http://www.stengelbros.com/U-boltKits.htm

I actually don't, sorry. All I can tell you is to crawl under the truck (or in the wheel well) and measure the distance of the u-bolt center to center. Then measure the length and add whatever thickness you're adding with the block and that's the length you'll need. That's what I was going to do.

first check to see if your bolts have any extra, mine did. I went w/ 2" blocks and i didn't have enough extra for that. The 25$ kit I bought from NAPA said "fits most trucks." They were a little too snugg but i was able to persuade them to fit

the u-bolts that came with my lift blocks were tight, all I did was bend them open wide enough to fit around my axle, than pulled them up tight with an impact wrench.

I had 2" blocks for 6 mo, and they make the truck look great. I also have to tm kit for the front, which gave me 1.5" of lift. So 1.5" in the front and 2" in the rear left me with a larger rake then i had stock, and I could tell. The stock shocks JUST make it with the 2" blocks, when slowly going over speed bumps, or a mild trail, the rear shocks seemed to slam down (or thats how if felt) after going over the bumps. I decided it was best to use 1" blocks instead. The stock shocks are just like the factory ride with the 1" blocks, and the truck has a 1.5 rake instead of the factory 2" now.

Since then though, Rough Country has come out with there lift kit, and a set of rear shocks for a 1.5" block. These would work perfect for 2" blocks, and solve the problem I mentioned. It's to late now though, I will never do them again.
