I took mine off today to put a body lift on. I fought with one of them for almost an hour with PB Blaster and a 600 ft pound impact. At the end of the hour and no progress made I got out the die grinder and cut the heads off of the s.o.b.'s.
I got the heads cut off mine last night. Talk about a pain in the ***. I gotta hammer that bolt out now.
soooo i got some tow hooks for christmas from my dad (his way of making fun of me for driving a dakota) and iv tried getting those damn bolts out and they just wont come, tried part ease and wd-40 with an impact and they just keep spinning. i had my truck in the shop for starter issues and they also couldn't get them off. I went to the dodge body shop and told them about these stubborn bolts and the two guys at the counter just laugh and say oh yeah aren't those a fun time. They said to weld a big bolt onto the top of the busing so you can put a socket on there and use an impact underneath. they said its a lot easier for them however since the front rad and headlights and all the rest of the front clip is usually out of the way. Anyway, im gonna try using a stick welder next time iv got some free time and il let yall know how it goes.
