Default MyGIG, who has tried it?

Ok, has anyone successfully retrofitted the MyGIG radio into their 05-07 Daks? (Sorry 08 guys but yours was available from the factory so I know it fits in yours) I am seriously considering picking one up that I found cheap but I'm not sure if it's even possible to get it to work in our trucks, anyone have info?

it is possible to make them work in our trucks... I have an 05 and have installed an RER ( full blown MyGig) the only problems I have are that the clock does not work, because our trucks do not come with the HFM (Hands Free Module) which takes the navigation satalite time and puts it back on the buss for the radio to know what time its. This is really kind of stupid because the radio process the GPS info and isnt smart enough to pic the time off of its own processor. the other issue is you have to manually switch the daytime and nighttime display settings because the CAN message in our trucks is different from the 08 CAN message for the lights, so the radio does not understand the message.

other than those two things the radio works perfictly. all of the navigation functions work from the CAN Bus, and the blue tooth works for the cell phone link I have also added the auto dimming mirror with the mic in it so I can use the U-connect feture.

To actually install it you will have to go online and buy the aftermarket conversion harness as if you wer installing an aftermarket radio, then you will have to add the twoCAN wires to that plug. then you also have to order the MyGig radio plug harness one of my buddies found it online (I could only find it at the stealership) You will also have to buy the parts and make an adaptor for the antenna.

I have a contact that contracts for Chrysler that can get all of the parts and build an adaptor harness and antenna cable for you if you are interested.
If it were easy everyone would do it...

The MyGig should be a direct plugin in an 08 truck. you just have to make sure you get the right speed radio. If I am not mistaking the 08 trucks are highspeed Can (Can-C) the 05-07 are low speed Can (Can-B)

I don't know the answer to that, I would assume that they are the same antenna plug as that is usually how the automakers do it so that they can easily option each vhecile as they choose (or the customer requests)
