Default HIGHLY Disappointed...

I got my *** handed to me by a VW 1.8L turbo off the line...granted I didn't know we were racing until i heard his exhaust start screaming; but still...that's no excuse. Honestly, it was embarrassing. Kinda bummed...

Figure out the power to weight ratios of your truck and his VW and I'm sure it will all make sense. The 6 speed shifter isn't exactly short-throw either

Yeah dude..you need to even it all out, plus it was a turbocharged engine too man, cant really mess with turbos if all you have right now is a single resonator exhaust lol...just get some new spark plugs, the Fastman TB, 180 T-stat for a couple small things...

then work your way up, buy getting...a better exhaust system, a cold air intake (cause in your sig you dont mention one), internal work like cams, ported heads, maybe some forged pistons for the Paxton supercharger, a bottle of Zex or NOS nitrous and you should do that much better lol

Don't feel bad about it man, with the power to weight ratio some of those small cars have they can be deceptively quick. My last car was a 1994 Integra GSR 5spd 1.8L naturally aspirated, I never found a truck or suv I couldn't beat with that car, muscle cars and turbos were the only things I had to worry about. Granted not a lot of people go all out on their trucks around here, a Hemi with the right mods would have toasted me but they were all stock

HAHA, I definitely feel you on that point. I was also thinking about something like take a shorter shifter and mounting it to the side of our shifter using a a few solid clamps. It would be a few inches separation, and towards me. So that I could kind of have a short shifter when need be. And still use the longer one for daily driving.

I can say that I did kill an impala two nights ago. Going about 50 down the highway I pulled up next to him, threw it in 3rd, and just waited. He took off but that didn't last long. I was pretty proud of that one.

I dont understand lol. You spent quite a bit on the truck no? 20k could of gotten you a great used car if you were interested in racing. This isnt exactly a platform worth racing. In fact, its one of the slower trucks around. The V6 is a joke when it comes to acceleration, and the V8 is "ok" from the factory. Still pretty weak.

You could have gotten a SRT-4 for 15k-ish.

Used 350Z for 20k-ish.

Mazda speed 3 for like 23k-ish new.

Its towing and load capacity that give us the bragging rights. We are the class leaders. Speed......eh..

It's like the guys over in the 3rd gen ram section, they think there trucks fly because its got a "HEMI". That engine design really doesnt mean anything today. The Ram with the 5.7l is ok, but nothing crazy. Acura MDX beats it in the quarter. Not to mention near anything else thats not a truck lol.

LoL. I didnt mean to offend you superdak, your numbers are pretty good. i am just saying, for example, you can achieve better numbers from a stock vehicle, for the same money or less then the cost of ours.
