went to price a 08 serria 1500 because i noticed they are offering $5000.00 off right know and it dont cost nuttin to look.well guess what theY offered for my 05 x-cab lar 4x4 with 33,000 miles awd,4wabs,tow package, plus the xtras i have includiing ext warr????????

A dealer offered my $4,000 for my '02. 60k miles, touch screen dvd player, tool box, GREAT condition overall...

 

Same thing happened when I bought my 05 Dak three years ago, they offered me $7,000 for my 02 Dak, 4.7.auto,CC with 20k on it. The only reason thatI bought the 05 is that my son-in-law wanted my 02 for $18k. It was worth $17k on KBB.com so I sold it to him for $17k. In many ways it was a better truck that my 05.

 

Yeah then they will flip the truck around and try to sell it for more than $20K.

Cuz everyone wants one.

 

Go look at what's flying off dealer lots right now and what's been sitting there for weeks on end, and you wonder why they're not giving you a good price for it?

 

Don't listen to anything that comes out of a dealers mouth. They are trying to rip you off. Straight up tell them what you want and what you believe is reasonable and show them that you are serious and if they still turn you down then walk.

Never go into a dealer without haggling for a better price/better trade in value because they will always hit you with a low-ball offer first to test the waters and see if you are stupid enough to take the deal.

 

When I went to trade my 05 dakota V8 4x4 club cab back in feburary for an 08 jeep patriot they only wanted to give me 9500. I said no way I should be able to get at least 14,000 for it. It had so much aftermarket stuff and had 29,000 miles. They ended up giving me 12,500 for it. You really have to stick to your guns. Know how much your truck is worth and stick to it.
