I am not HAPPY!
Yes, good point, as far as I know from driving it around yesterday, it rides like it did before. It tracks fine down the road, no rattles, shimmys, or shakes. The guy whos doing the work said he would check to make sure nothing is twisted, but as a brief look at it when he was doing the estimation, he said it looked fine and the frame didnt look like it was even touched. Another thing is the box still sits square to the cab. The receiver hitch's structure was only bent sideways and the mounts still looked true that attached to the frame. Another thing is the hit was mostly to the left hand side. The F150 took most the damage to the center and over to his right and my truck was on a 15-20 degree angle to his truck when it came in contact with mine because I was getting over into a right turn lane. The hit was at around 25mph, maybe 30mph, but no faster and was not a dead center blow. The speed limit is 35, and there was so much traffic I dont think he could have got that much of a speed above that. Ill make sure again that he knows I want it looked at, but I doubt very seriously its hurt in anyway. Thanx guys

I think it was only because she (her Father) was another USAA member. Thats the last thing an insurance company wants is for both their clients to hit each other. The other wrecks my wife's been in (she has been hit three times in two years!) USAA was outstanding, thats why I was so shocked they were being that way. I emailed a complaint about how we were treated and major apology came from the head the dept. I'm glad it worked out so good for lghtngblt02.

1. the hitch is a (more or less) structural member that is directly bolted to the frame, no cushions or crumple zones. therefore, the forces the hitch experienced were directly routed to the frame.
2. i could care less what happened to the 150. the fact that you were hit off-center only makes things worse. think of your frame as a ladder. fix one side, apply force to the other and you have a racked frame.
3. non-unibody vehicles don't always reveal problems. the body, in a sense, "floats" on the frame and body mounts have a bit of give. get up under your bed and look for shadow lines at the mounts and contact points.
4. a racked frame doesn't mean shakes, rattles, ect. you may feel that your tracking fine, but that is from your perspective as the driver. have someone drive your truck and you follow behind in another vehicle. line up your view down a side of your truck as it drives. do the other side and compare views, they should mirror. if you see more of one side than the other your track (thrust angle) is off and possibly your frame is racked.
