I am not HAPPY!
Well I walk out the door, on a normal wednesday, hump day of the week, as usuall 7:45am to be to work by 8:00 which is only 4 miles away. Traffic tends to be heavy to moderate in my area at this time. Well the drive started good, not really backing up to bad in most locations, made it through most of the lights, about 1/8 mile from the office, no more lights, traffic moderate, started backing up for the merge left lane into the business plaza to the point where I have to come to a complete stop. I sit there for about 2 secs while on the phone talking to my father like normal and WHAM!!!!!!!!! A guy in a Ford F150 decides his truck is female, in heat and wants to mate with mine! He rearends me!!!
Well here is the aftermath! The truck took it well. The left taillight is in fact broke the cover is blocking the cracks. The receiver hit is bent to he77 and the box has dimples and dents all up the left side, the bumper is phucked up, and the tail gate has various dents in it. I havent looked underneath it yet to see what got bent or twisted yet. Here are some photos of it!

All in all it could have been worse, even though I wanted a clean record for the truck. I had the police come out and fill out a report, the guy took full blame like he should have but I still wanted them out there for a mediator. I took my self down to the hospital to just get a check over, alls good, I have a few back muscles that are sore. The doctor hooked me up with some muscle relaxers. Right now I am waiting to hear back from the insurance agent to see where the trucks going or what I have to do. Luckily we have the same insurance and same agents, which is kinda odd, so I think everything should flow rather smooth. Ill keep ya guys updated! What do you guys think the damage is gonna run, just curious as your inputs? I have my figures, tell me yours!

dude that sucks! And I feel your pain! Don't you just love stupid people? And I'm gonna guess the damage is going to go quite high. When my truck got smacked in the parking lot the drivers side rear door was punched in beyond repair, the floor was pushed up in the cab, my door had a few dints, as well as the box, and the step bar was f*cked. The adjuster had it just over $5000 but of course it actually came in just under 10,000 once all was said and done. But it is going to take some pretty serious metal messaging to get your box back to normal so i'm thinkin yours is gonna run pretty high, and now thats its been in an accident the overall value goes way down....fixed or not. I know I would like to trade my truck in maybe next year, but it probably wont' happen because it's not worth a lot anymore now that the title isn't clean.
Man, sorry to hear about that. Some people don't know when to stop. Glad you're okay. Probably 2-3000 in damage, my guess. I'm probably guessing low, though.
Where was it? There's a couple of spots in CH/Mechanicsburg that I can see that happening (and accidents happen around there sooo often...so much traffic).

It was those damn nuts hanging there! Statistics show most F*RD owners are gay, not that there's anything wrong with that (political correctness statement - just listing statistical facts - you can look it up
). Dude got focused on them, bringing happy thoughts, and WHAMMO!!!
Just glad you're OK. That's what really matters!
My truck was a virgin for all of about five weeks, which is not my record btw, I totaled a 280Z after three weeks when I was 18, drunk off my a$$. Luckily it was an oak tree, nobody else involved, no witnesses, just my girlfriend who was with me. No injuries. Waited a couple hours to call it in so I could sober up. Taught me a lesson though, twenty-three years later, I've never drove drunk again.
But anyway, I bought my truck and made them throw in skid plates as a closer, told them I'd never buy a 4x4 without them. It's in the shop having them installed and Mr. 19 year old mechanic pulls a CTD in the bay next to where mine is and hits a rolling tool chest and knocks it right into the side of the bed. Big dent and a big gouge in the paint. They sent it to a private repair shop and had the dent fixed and re-painted the whole side of the bed. Gave me a loaner 2wd Hemi 2500 while they had it.
I can see the paint over and where they pulled the ding. Everybody thinks I'm crazy and they can't see it, but when the sun hits it just right, I can see swirls in the paint, to me, it stands out like a sore thumb...

A) i wonder if the insurance will cover your after market tail lights (if they need to be replaced, i cant really tell from the picture) or if they will just replace them with stockers.
B) Nice truck nuts

Sorry to hear that and I am glad that you are okay and not hurt. You pick where the truck goes not them, and tell them you want it to go straight to the dealer. Also, tell them you want everything replaced, not "FIXED". New bed, bumper, lights, everything. If they don't replace everything tell them you want the dealer to re-appraise your truck and you'll take the difference between the two amounts in a cashiers check. Let us know how the repairs go and good luck! At least the new window tint didn't get messed up!!
Even if they do replace everything with all new parts, make sure to ask the insurance company about "diminished value" of your truck. The insurance company will not tell you about this unless you ask...

What Really is Diminished Value ?
You've been in an auto accident - You now have a claim for collision damage - You may also have a claim for Diminished Value - Diminished Value is the amount by which the resale value of a damaged (or damage repaired) vehicle has been reduced for having a significant damage history. There are actually three (3) broadly accepted types of Diminished Value . . .
1. Immediate Diminished Value is the difference in resale value of a vehicle immediately before damage has occurred and immediately after damage has occurred (prior to repair). Most jurisdictions (courts) will use this standard as the primary measure of damage when courts are employed to seek reimbursement for damage from a negligent party. As courts are rarely the chosen venue for recovery of property damage, the standard of “Immediate Diminished Value” is rarely employed in resolving Diminished Value Claims . . .
2. Inherent Diminished Value assumes optimal repair quality has been achieved and is defined as the amount by which the resale value of a repaired vehicle has been reduced simply because the subject vehicle now has a significant damage history. “Inherent Diminished Value” is the most widely recognized and accepted form of Diminished Value. It is also the basis upon which any supplemental form of Diminished Value would be added. A common “Supplemental” form of Diminished Value is “Repair Related Diminished Value” . . .
3. Repair Related Diminished Value includes any additional amounts by which the resale value of a subject vehicle may be further reduced because of less-than-optimal repairs. This could include anything from minor cosmetic imperfections to major structural defects.
