tomorrow i will be switching the factory out an in goin the pioneer,my ? is how does the dash piece come out,i see no screws,or is this dash held in by snaps or what an the harness i have is metra 70-6502,is that right for the non infinity system
there is no screws for the dash piece itself, but the radio will be held in with screws. I'm not sure about the Harness, if you call up a best buy or circuit city, they can confirm that for you.
after gettin the old stereo out an wiring the harness up,i have a contant power on the yellow wire, and a good ground, but no power from the red wire.the harness i got has 2 yellow wires an 2 black wires an one red an all the other colors, why isnt it getttin any power, even when i test it it shows no power on the red an the facotry harness has no wire goin to the harness to conect to the red one on the aftermarket one.any ideals
yeah it was, thats why im puzzled, the aftermarket harness has a red wire but the factory harness has no wire goin to the red wire for the aftermarket to get power
If I remember right our trucks use the CAN bus to signal the radio to turn on, meaning there's no switched power at the radio harness, you'll need to tap another source for it. Look for something that has power when the key is in acc or on but no power when off
