Question Hey! Club cab people!

will the back door hinges from the 07's fit on the 05's? a friend of a friend has an 07 and i really liked the way they open. it looks like they bolt right up, but i was just wondering if anyone else had done it yet.

*edit* also- if you have done it already how much did the hinges cost?

Hmm, I didn't know there was a difference. Do you have any pics of the 07?

I believe they will, spent a while on the phone with the local dealership parts guy one day and we determined they ought to bolt right up. They are freakin EXPENSIVE though, I think it was going to be around 600 for everything

As to the difference, crappy pics but here's how they open on earlier 3rd gens:

And on later 3rd gens (Lower right corner):

They swing back all the way? My moronic friends and hyper kids would tear the **** out of my door and the sides of the bed. I'm good with mine.

They dont hit the bed Baracis, they do swing open like around 160-170 some, but stop before hitting the bed. Its awesome for fitting large boxes in the backseat. It also makes it easier to get in and out of the back. I like the newer design better. When I get my truck back next week, Ill post some open door pics to show yas

I looked into it when I had my truck. The parts guy at the dealership who I felt was an honest guy said they looked like they would work but be a lot of work to get it done. You can't just take the door off and swap hinges. The doors have some weight to them and have to be aligned right. Plus I think the hinges were like 165 a piece and you need 2 per door.

I bet if you dance to YMCA in a speedo, holding a shop vac, and petting a cat, Bolt would happily toss you the money.
