Yep you will have a battle on your hands. The dealer doesn't want to help much. I have cracked fog light lens trhat are cracked from heat. The dealer said no the DSM said no finally after much complaining they agreed to pay half. One on them one on me. I had front strut problems, they would only replace one side, another battle. The dealer would rather perform sub standard work and have word of mouth trash them rather then to put out a few dollars to do the job properly. Now we are addressing the rear shocks, they only will pay to replace the bad one. I NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH GM! Guess what brand I will purchase next! Good luck in your battle.

a burned exhaust valve
makes a unique sound in the exhaust at idle
and it seems to me I have heard this several times when side to side to another
late model Chrysler vehicle with the 4.7V8

i have not paid as much attention to 3.7 V6s
only because they are not as common out on the roads

update---- well since the reflash (15,000 miles, that changed the hot idle to 600) the truck has been doing better! fyi... the dealer doesn't know what the reflash did but says it came from corporate office?

i even smoothed the idle out more by running shell v-power since this incident. since this fuel has 5 times the epa minimum detergent, i picked it to keep the carbon off the valves and rotating freely!

so i consider this issue solved, and for the record i have not gone back to the dealer in question! mike

That is good news, I'm glad everything is working as it should now.

Good to hear it's fixed. The 3.7 is a shaky guy, I can really feel it when I rest my hand on the shifter in neutral. Imagine if it didn't have any internal balance shaft.

I'm also probably overdue for some fuel injector treatment and a throttle body cleaning...
