Was curious how Frenchy's suggestion would look so I did a real quick chop of it. Personally I think the black bumper would look pretty sweet, it looks good like it is too but to me the black bumper seems a bit sleeker.

Played around with it a little bit more, let's see who spots what I changed first

Ok I need to stop playing with Photoshop and get my homework done...

Looks good Altair, back bumper and no decals and the shaved tail gate....something to consider...MoPaR4.7L, thought about a heat gun but thought it might leave more adhesive behind....I was watching "TruckU" on Speed last weekend, they used dental floss to remove side trim.....

I was able to lift off my 4x4 sticker with a razor blade lifting the edge and then pulling it off. no heat.
But to de-badge the tailgate... you are on the right track. String is a good way to get the badge off, but they you have to get the adhesive off. Goo gone works if you cant find any adhesive remover. after you pull them off, take a nice cleaner wax to the tailgate. it will help blend the paint if any fading has occurred.
Rubbing coumpound works better, but if you dont know what your doing, you can leave swirls on black...
Good luck, I think it would look tight.

Np, I was having too much fun chopping it, kept opening it back up and adding more, lol.
When I debadged my tailgate I used that 3m adhesive remover I mentioned earlier, let it soak in real good, apply some heat (not too much, don't want to burn the paint), slowly pull on one end of the badge and put a credit card or something similar under the other end so it can't dig into the paint. Then just use a soft rag with liberal amounts of the remover and rub off any residue. I did try the fishing line but it kept breaking and pissed me off.
