And so the Trek begins...
Well, we will be officially leaving the Garden State (NJ) for the Golden State (CA) tomorrow. Our route will take us through NJ, PA, WVa, Ohio, Ind, Ill, MO, OK, TX, NM, AZ and then San Diego.
The first stop is Hershey Park for "Hershey Park in the Dark" and then off to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After Indy, we will be heading to St. Louis. From St.L to AZ, we will be seeing some of the historic sites of Old Route 66 including Ted Drewes Frozen Custard (Chippewa St./Rt. 66 location) in St. Louis, Bass Pro Shops HQ in Springfield MO, The former "World Largest" McDonald's in Vinita OK, the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo TX, The Petrified Forest & The Painted Desert in AZ and when we get to Holbrook, AZ, we will be staying at the Wigwam Motel (yes, the rooms are individual TeePees). After we leave there, we will be driving through the Salt River Canyon, onto Phoenix and then onto San Diego.
Once we get settled and squared, I will post pics. I will be checking in from time to time during the next week.

I still like Jersey, even though our taxes are like the highest in the nation and our insurance is blown through the roof, its balanced enough here for me...
Is there anyone from here left???
