Default Colorado pickup for 2009

Has anyone heard that the Colorado pickup for 2009 is installing an optional 5.3L V8 @ 300HP motor? The tables have turned here. I hate the looks and quality of that line of sub-mid pickups but it's far lighter than a Dak and must be dead *** quick to boot.

Sure does...

Standard on Sport, available on Z85 and Z71 packagages, but only in the larger cabs. Still, the thing must haul ***. I hate the Chevy "Build Your Own" site, so I couldn't find a V8 Colorado for less than $25K MSRP.

Of course the V8 can't be had in a regular cab short bed, which is the only model that has somewhat decent looks. The crew cab trucks look turdly. My one experience in a Canyon was cramped, squeaky, creaky and wheezy between the body, frame and 5 pistons banging away up front. I didn't expect a modern vehicle to creak and groan like that thing did.

I drive an 08 Canyon for a service truck at work. I can't wait until the end of the week so I can park the bastard and drive my Dakota. The Dodge is so much roomier and actually feels like I'm driving a truck instead of a golf cart. The 300 h.p would be nice but I'll take the Dak anyway, we can get considerably more than that out of our trucks if we're willing to spend the cash, not like it's not an option. Also sitting side by side my Dakota looks way better than the Canyon.

+1

I'll take my true half-ton running gear and crosshair grill over a 300 HP GM anyday

By the way mikset, what brand and how much was that bed cap? It makes the truck look good.

That thing will be a beast. Since it's from GM, I'd expect good fuel economy also. I just don't like that front end styling. Maybe chrysler will up the ante also.
