Default "Diagnostic Mode" 05 Dakota

05 Dakota-----

Place key in ignition

click 2 clicks forward (guage lights light up)

click 1 click back (lights off)

click 1 click forward (guage lights on)

click 1 click back (lights off)

click 1 click forward (guage lights on)

When The mileage turns to ----------

That means it is in diagnostic mode. If there are no codes, it will say "DONE" You might have to wait for it. If you see the ----------- then you are right.

Sorry for the confusion, I sometimes forget people do not know how to do this. I am sorry.

Rich.

If you need help with what the codes mean, just reply or E-mail.

My truck has a little over 52K on it. It started around 50k. Not sure if egrs are supposed to start messing up around then or not.

I finally got to Autozone this morning and had then check for codes. It had two. P0344, something about a cam sensor. P0420, catalytic converter.

Below that it ran fine, but when it got too 2000rpm it acted like you were pressing on the gas and letting off quickly. That stopped after about 15 minutes. It ran fine for about another week. Any ideas what it could be? Sounds like a sensor to me.

i had that problem where it only reved up to 2000 rpms and just sputtered after that and its under warrentee so i took it in an they ended up replacing my engine
