Default Tires almost to wear bars.

I had my truck serviced today, they fixed this loud knocking noise and replaced my sway bar links...then they also wrote down that my "tires almost to wear bars"

My truck has 23,870 miles on it...is it normal for tires to go that fast? You would think they'd last 50,000 + because I know quite a few people with the same tires on their trucks.

How long did your first set of tires last on your Dakota's?

My stock SR-A's came off at 27,900 miles and have over half their tread left. They are pretty bad tires, except for their wear resistance.

I swapped my stock SR-A's with All Country Radial LTX 32's off another truck we were selling at around 25k miles. Never been happier, I'd say get yourself some decent tires and whatever you do don't let them put more SR-A's on there, you'l notice a big difference.

Right now I am running the SRAs with 15k on them and they have alot of treadlife left. I agree with Eric, they probably took a beating from the suspension work.

Yea I don't know what happened. I was thinking the sway bar links going bad might have affected them. My truck drifts to the right or left, it'll pull that way instead of go straight. I don't know how my tires went so fast. I'm sure they still have a few months left on them though. One thing goes bad then another, all at once. A few months ago when I got my tires rotated I was told I'd need new ones soon and then I've had a few other mechanics tell me the same recently. I'm not sure what brand they are...all I know is that they are the tires that I got from the company. 18" with nice rims. They're really nice but now I'm gonna have fun replacing the tires and finding some that'll work with my rims lol.

What are SRA's?

When we say SRA's we're referring to the Goodyear Wrangler SR-A tires most of our trucks came with from the dealer. For me at least they're the worst tires I've had on any vehicle, I was so happy to get rid of them. Also if your truck keeps pulling to the side you probably need an alignment. You should take it to a tire shop and have them check, alignments typically aren't too expensive and if your truck is out of alignment it can cause uneven tire wear and eat through your tires faster.

Stock tires suck on almost all vehicles.
