Default worn down key!?

OK, here's what happened. I go to start the truck tonight, and my key won't turn, the ignition is completely locked. Locksmith comes out and completely rebuilt the ignition right on the spot. He said it was because the key was worn down (comparing it to my backup key for door locks). So have any of you heard about this!?

The 'worn' key is on the left, on the right if a key I purchased 2 years ago.

same material our frt ends are made of, must have used cheap metal or when they made the key, the metal was missing something

Wow...I'm having trouble even believing that the key on the left even worked for you last week....it's so worn down...seems odd that it would have to wear down that much to NOT work.

Maybe one of your friends played a joke on you and too a grinder to it.

I think hes been crushing drugs up with it...

I agree my 93 dak was the same way, I had the key from the beginning and it still worked until I broke one of the cams inside key cylinder which meant a replacement everything
