Default Mirrors

Hey i was looking at some of the trucks and noticed that some have the mirrors that are stationary and some that can be flipped in i looked on ebay and noticed that the ones that are stationary aren't heated and well i live in canada and would love to upgrade my mirrors to the heated ones just wondering if this is a big job or does anyone have any ideas. i also really like the look of the movable style

He's got to be, the regular mirrors don't fold and I don't think you can get them heated either. The question is are all the trucks pre-wired for the heated mirrors? If they are it should be pretty easy to do the swap you'd just need the heated tow mirrors and the defrost button that goes in the HVAC controls for them.

Even if they are prewired at the mirror, you'd have to find the other end behind your dash and connect a switch.

I dont remember it being an option either...

I thought about putting some on, just making the rear window defrost button the on off switch for the heated mirrors... so when I hit it both would turn on, of course that entails a relay and some other thinking so that I dont burn my switch up

The defrost button on my truck turns the heated mirrors on. I don't have defrost on my rear window.

Yea i have the 6X9 (i believe) tow, heated mirrors that fold. There is the defrost button either above or below the a/c button. It heats my mirrors up and defrosts them. I used them in PA in december when the truck was froze over.

Yeah its below the a/c button... hmmmm, Ill have to check mine out in greater detail. I occasionally turn the button on to defrost my rear window, but I have never payed that much attention to the mirrors.

I'll eat my words about them not being an option...
